Well – I think that is very true especially after I found this photo of myself (I’m the tall one) taken with Andrew, Jane & Richard (left to right).   What do you think???  BIG GRINS here of course.   I think it was taken in the summer holidays at Windy (1973 perhaps 1974?).  Let me know cousins if you know when it was taken.

The other photos I have uncovered are more obvious.  The small one of Auntie Jean has 1948 written on the back and the larger black and white photo is at my christening.

If you don’t recognize people they are (left to right) – Pat, Grandma, Aunty Margaret, my Mum, Nana Clark, Auntie Jean (sitting) with me on her knee and I think the little girl is cousin Kathryn or Helen?  Not sure again – please tell me if you know.

Well – we’ve had a good week – hope you all have.  Working hard on our new business directory and managed to take a few walks in between the snow storms.  Today was lovely – the sun shone and the birds were singing so we took the opportunity to take a lovely walk around the park.

Rescue Bear needs a name …

…. now – get ready for a BIG Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Here is the latest addition to our family – we’ve called him RB for now (that’s because he’s a Rescue Bear).  The poor thing had been dumped in a box of bric a brac at the auctions and along with a couple of other bears there were no takers – except Brent.  Well – who could resist him eh??

 Granted he does have a bit of a wonky nose and squinty eyes but in our opinion that’s part of his charm.  Well he’s settled in very well (see photo) although he lacks a proper name yet.  Any (nice) suggestions are welcome – sorry no prizes to give away – but you may get posted.

All postings and comments should start appearing again now.  Gosh – is that a sigh of relief I hear from all my cat fans who love looking at my cat piccies (thanks for the visits and comments by the way).  Both Hercules and Xena are very well – although Xena’s hip is giving her a bit of gip. However, she soldiers on the little love.

My blog seems to have developed a mind of its own …

… sorry to everyone who is visiting but it seems my blog seems to have decided to mess about with the postings system.

Hold on to your hats folks ….

…. not only because of this wild weather we are having but because …. now wait for it …. I have been learning to bake!!! Yes – you heard right – Julie has been cooking!!! Amazing eh?  For all of those out there that know me really well you will know what a event this is.  Gosh – I’m still amazed myself.

How did it occur?? Well – it was a pure accident really.  Brent has been poorly in bed all week and although we were stocked up to the gills with food we did not have any bread.  Now – I’m not keen on going out in general – especially if it is only to a shop to buy bread so I was driven to look in the store cupboard – and VOILA!!!  The next thing you know I’m mixing, kneading, rising and baking.  Then of course EATING – it must have been good because it all went very quickly.

SO – I made some more!

And that went even quicker ….. SO …. you got it!!! I made some more… Photos shown here.

…. thanks for your lovely message Ellie.  I always welcome messages from people – although I am rubbish at replying. That is why I set up this blog – due to complaints from friends all around  the world that they did not know if I was alive or dead.  As you can see I am not a big blogger – lucky if I do one post a month – but it is enough as far as I am concerned.

Of course I would love to hear more about you.  Your mum has my address if you would like to put pen to paper and write a letter (with photos please – I love photos) – I have also sent her an email so she now has my private email address.
