Fun Stuff,
Travelling
Hi everyone
Just a quick line to share our news and photos taken on the top of Crown Point Burnley last week. We decided to get all togged up and take a walk over the tops - whoweeee was it a blowey one. Made it to the Singing Ringing Tree - a Panoptican
I must admit we were a little disappointed - not because it was a misty drizzly day and the view was obscured (we can always go back on a clearer day) but we were led to belive that it played a tune. We like to walk on Blackpool front and listen to the tall pipes playing a ‘tune’ in the wind - but this one sort of gave a low hum occasionally. Like I said - a little disappointed.
Maybe the wind wasn’t the ‘right sort’ of wind - we will give it another go though - and take a flask of hot chocolate next time - we were frooozzen.

Blogroll … well it looks like I’m a once a month blogger doesn’t it?
Hello everyone - thanks for tuning in.
Like I said it seems as if it is my habit to write a little something once a month judging by my previous posts. It isn’t like anything never happens in my life … just I always seem to be doing ’something else’ whenever it crosses my mind to have a blog.
So … what’s happened this last month. Well - as you can probably guess from the photo I entered the Race for Life in aid of cancer research AND I completed the course in good time. I fully expected it to take me well over an hour - if not an hour and a half but I managed to get round in just over 50 minutes. WHOWEEEE - that’s quite a surprise for me because I’m not the fittest of people AND I’ve never ever done anything like it before in my life… IT WAS GREAT!!!
One of my bestest mates Gill came with me as support and to also have a go - see other photo - we enjoyed it so much we’re going to have a go next year again all being well.
I’ve also had a birthday!! A lovely time - Brent cooked me a slap up birthday breakfast, there were presents, phone calls, visits and meals out - BBQ Ribs & Chicken at the Queensway in Lytham - Loverrlllly - just what I like.
So .. that’s it for significant events that I would like to chat about - well - those that I can think of at the moment anyway. Anything else that comes to mind I’ll let you know.
Signing off with love n stuff

Travelling,
Motivation … well I got there ‘eventually’ - to quote my mother’s neighbour. It seemed that the fates were conspiring to stop me going up to Newcastle - first I was ill - then Brent was ill - then my mum was ill - then the weather turned bad- and on … and on … and on.
Like I said - I got there AND I am happy to say I got back!! It’s simply years since I ventured anywhere on my own - let alone on trains right across the country and THEN through a very very busy city centre on the Underground Metro system. Well - I amaze myself. OOooooooooooo where next eh??
Anyroad - mum was fine - obviously back on her feet as you can see from the photo. We’re both squinting so much because the sun was absolutely beautiful - clear blue sky - fresh sea breeze and the trees were in bloom.
We spent a good few hours reminising about past holidays - always close to my heart and I came home with quite a few photos to replace all those I lost in the flood. Mum also asked me to take home my lovely tiny tears doll that I had when I was a child because she was worried something might happen to her. So - teeny tiny is now sat happily on the bedding box with old ted, looking very pink in her new all in one jumpsuit. THANKS MUM!
See you again soon hopefully - keep well!!

It’s Fathers Day in the UK and so naturally my thoughts turn to my own dad who passed away 24 years ago this very weekend. He was taken at a young age but has left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Funny, energetic, positive, caring and he knew how to motivate - he always left people with big smiles on their faces and the room was always better for him being there.
As a family we travelled the world together (as soon as I could walk) met wonderous people, had magnificent adventures and felt at home wherever we went.
So Dad - on Fathers Day - wherever you are now - I send you love and many thanks, in particular for passing on your brilliant philosophy on life - ‘To make the most of today - tomorrow may never come’ and ‘do whatever you want to do in life, it doesn’t matter at the end of the day just so long as you were happy’.

Happiness
Hello my friends
I’ve just spent a lovely lunchtime sat outside the Greek cafe in the center of town overlooking the very slow moving river. Time spent with a much loved old friend who I do not see much of these days. An inspiring meeting because she is shortly retiring from work and taking off on a round the world trip - oooooooooooooooooooooo - Australia, New Zealand, the Far East and India.
Talking of travelling and favourite places brought to mind one of mine. A little coastal fishing village in Portugal called Olhos d Aqua - I felt inspired to create and here is what I did. Eeeeeeeeeeeee lovely lovely memories.
Hope you enjoy looking at my work.

Travelling I just had to write and speak about an exciting find of mine in an auction last week. A box full of old postcards and letters dated between 1918 and 1955. Among them are personal letters which literally transport you back in time to the first world war, second world war and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Some are very sad such as those from sons to mothers in the first world war, they leave you wondering if they came back, some are downright funny when they describe the behaviour of people they work with and some are very intriguing …. Watch this space … if I can get my scanner going again then I plan to post some snippets.
Thanks for reading

Hello All
Well it looks like I have now joined the 21st Century and got my own blog site!! Eeeeeeeeeee how long did I resist eh???
The question now of course is what am I going to do with it. Seeing as you all are spread far and wide across the world I thought about the theme of travelling - a recurring theme especially considering my roots. So that is what I am going to stick to - for now.
Of course - we could get into the academic discussion regarding definitions - What is travelling? For the purposes of this blog - for now anyway - I am talking about anything which involves changing, learning, moving on, moving about or moving around.
So - you can probably expect to hear many musings which often go around in circles with no particular purpose. Take from it what you will - I have no real agenda -except to share postive thoughts, feelings of happiness and much love.
As always - I look forward to hearing from you.
