And Rain Stopped Play ….

Posted under Motivation

Hello all

As some of you know we were due to go to the annual stamp fair held at York Racecourse and do the whole Home made cards‘York Tourist’ thing this weekend - however, the rains came down all week and it was particularly cold. Mad! Middle of July and we put the central heating on.

So – it was a playing in doors couple of day (and of course a jaunt to Boundary Mill) Photos to follow in another blog and news of purchases.  I got busy being creative – it seems all the rage these days to make your own cards so I thought I would have a go.  The last time I made my own cards was at junior school.  It was a very satisfying hour - I particularly enjoyed the watercolouring part (as usual) – not keen on the glue part though – not my thing getting messy!

Anyway – ‘here’s some I made earlier’ to quote a very famous children’s TV programme.  I even sent one to a very good friend of mine who has just moved house. Hope she liked it and didn’t think I was being a cheapskate!!??!!

Gosh – I’ve just noticed the time and I have a busy day tomorrow. So here’s Good Night from me. Sleep Tight.

How well do you know yourself?

Posted under Motivation

Have you ever had a go at taking psychometric tests? NO?    Neither had I up until this A rockweek. I am considering continuing my studies into Life Coaching and at the more advanced level one needs to get to know oneself very well – as well as getting to know clients. Part of the getting to know yourself part is to engage (if you so wish) in a few ‘tests’.  It’s the first time I’ve taken one and the results are fascinating. They do of course come with the advice (which I give my clients already) that they represent how you feel today and are based on your expriences todate, and, are only indicators, take the test again tomorrow and the results could be different.  I am always saying one should keep an open mind so I plunged in ….

It turns out that I am a Protector: (sounds like me already)  Protectors are patient, modest and diligent. They show great compassion and support for others – often by taking care of the day-to-day practical details. They are not particularly interested in logical or technical things, preferring a more personal touch and they enjoy being helpful, persistent, organised and thorough.

I’ve run the results past a couple of friends already and they say ‘no surprises there then!’  WHAT DO THEY MEAN??? So roughly translated I guess that means that I am true to who I am and know myself very well indeed.

On that note – I know I now need a cuppa tea in my beautiful new china cup and saucer bought from Boundary Mill this afternoon (more on that to follow).

Thanks for listening

~The end of an ear – ooppps I mean ERA~

A PileHello everyone

Sorry about the long silence but we’ve been just so sooooooo busy – it’s mad!!

It’s time to move on now very quickly as my business is growing and growing (great news eh?).  I seem to have left academia and training behind me for now and am moving rapidly back into one of my major areas of strength – entreprenuership.  To all who know me – you know that means buying and selling stuff.  Just like the good old days.

The last few weeks have been great – we never stop – out and about all the time meeting new people and constantly feeling stimulated and motivated.  The side effects are: house is getting a major sort out – that’s the photo – all my old textbooks are being advertized (many have sold already as I type) AND we are even more pleased to report an increase in health and fitness levels.

Our cats seem a bit confused at times about all the boxes that get packed and unpacked.  I had to sort out the blanket box the other day which included Xena’s favourite chenile blanket.  I think she thought we might be selling it so she quickly staked her claim.  So sweet ….Princess

Well …. having said that I now need to sign off … my ‘inbox’ of questions is peeping at me again … eeeeeeeeeeeeee BIG GRINS.
