I just had to write and speak about an exciting find of mine in an auction last week. A box full of old postcards and letters dated between 1918 and 1955. Among them are personal letters which literally transport you back in time to the first world war, second world war and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Some are very sad such as those from sons to mothers in the first world war, they leave you wondering if they came back, some are downright funny when they describe the behaviour of people they work with and some are very intriguing …. Watch this space … if I can get my scanner going again then I plan to post some snippets.
