Hi Everyone – I’m back ….

Hi everyone – just wanted to say hello and let you know that ‘I’m Back! – up and running once again after many months of rejigging etc

Well we’ve had a full on week here and a fun day full of double-entendres – its probably Friday night hysteria kicking in.

Had a few slates loose last week – some may say I’ve had a few slates loose for a while – well I retort - Oi! we make the jokes around here!!   A very VERY nice local man fixed them. His name is Paul Banks Joinery Kitchens and Roofing – he does joinery, kitchens and roofing in Burnley – you can find him on Facebook via the link above.

Now I need my pipes and plumbing sorting out – whilst at the same time Brent is busy making arrangements for some de-bugging and wrestling with a DB

Te He – still chuckling – chat soon.

Have a good weekend.  It will soon be time to get back to work in earnest – I’ll keep you informed of progress.

Thanks for looking in.

ps – the photo is how our yard USED to look – got plans to return it to its former glory ready to share wine, cheese, beer and crisps for my birthday bash

Explore… Dream… Discover…

Quote: Mark Twain

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.  So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbour.  Catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore.  Dream.  Discover.”

Today is full of new beginnings for us. Our plans are forming quickly and the energy levels are on the up.   We may not have the yacht (yet) but we have the motivation to say ‘yes’ to stuff and have a go. Please – Wish us luck!

Thanks

Cala Honda Dreaming …

    …. eeeee

Just a little bit of dreaming whilst I manipulate a database for more efficient working.  Its amazing where the mind wanders to when merging columns and asking for formula results …..

Piccie is of me chilling on a seaside wall at Cala Honda Beach Lanzarote

Thanks for looking in – Love Julie x

Reverting to Type

No pun intended … however … words do say more than the letters that form them at times don’t they?

As many of you know I have been involved in the very practical side of internet marketing and affiliate sales for many years.  Running a successful business with my husband to sell nearly every type of product and service online since the 1990s – GOSH GASPs? Was the internet even invented in the 90s I hear many of you ask???

At times the work has been, if I am honest. the factory type hamster in a wheel kind of long hours, data manuipulation, database development and spreadsheet analysis. A far cry from the creative glamorous dot com image that is often bandied about.

Lately though I have felt that something has been missing. Coming from an academic background, first student, then undergraduate, then Postgraduate, qualified teacher and more recently University College lecturer the urge to read, think and analyse is now deeply ingrained.

So – a book has been purchased. Yes – an academic book!! After a few years away from that scene I have succumbed. With great expectation I look at the title: Creating & Capturing Value – Pespectives & Cases in Electonic Commerce by Garth Saloner & A.Michael Spence. A dated publication but non the less one to get my brain cells firing again I am sure.

I hate to admit it but I do feel an essay coming on!!

Watch this space (as they say – who ever ‘they’ are?) I’m off for a Sunday morning coffee and danish pastry as I settle down for a much looked forward to read.

Chat soon – thanks for popping by – now where’s my glasses?

Motivation – the clock is ticking!

Today:  Feeling the pressure of time passing by and things not progressing as quickly as we would like.  Motivation isn’t an issue – just lack of hours in the day. Still like the following quote though – great advice!

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing-that’s why we recommend it daily. -Zig Ziglar

Chat soon – thanks for dropping by
